Dr. Jill Biden Visits Fort Drum
On January 30, 2023, USO Fort Drum hosted First Lady Dr. Jill Biden at a luncheon meeting with Fort Drum service members and families. Dr. Biden heard first-hand the experiences of being a military family from the Fort Drum community which has a community of over 4,000 military families.
The USO team welcomed over 100 soldiers from the 10th Mountain Division and family members for a discussion about Dr. Biden’s Joining Forces Initiative, which is a nationwide focus on service members, veterans and military families to support them through wellness, education, and employment opportunities. Dr. Biden and Deputy Secretary of Defense Dr. Kathleen Hicks hosted a round table discussion with soldiers and families. The visit included a panel discussion with Chantee Collins, one of our USO transition specialists about our Pathfinder Transition program for active duty, Reserve and National Guard and military spouses by offering professional development services both during military service and when they are transitioning out.
